Biography


Mira's love of art began at an early age with her classic sketches in pencil, charcoal and conté, with which she captures the nuances of shading. She masterfully works in oil, acrylic and watercolour painting as well as scratchboard, calligraphy and chinese sumi-é painting. She has taken classes in clay sculpture as well as silk floral corsage and bouquet making at Etobicoke School of the Arts. She has experience with a wide variety of fibre arts such as embroidery, cross-stitch, macrame and sewing. Mira has recently created a number of sculptures using the textile-hardening medium of Paverpol, and is a Certified Paverpol Instructor.

Mira is an accomplished, published, writer of both poetry and prose, and worked as a Freelance Writer and Freelance Medical Writer for almost 10 years. She has a B.A. from the University of Toronto, Specialist Certification in English Language and Literature, and a Minor in Renaissance Studies. She has her Teacher Training Certification from the Sidney Ledson Institute in North York, and has been working as an Educational Assistant with the TCDSB for more than twelve years. She has vast experience teaching children with special needs, has led many exciting Artist in the Classroom workshops, and has conducted several Art Therapy classes for adults.

Mira uses her patience, creativity and enthusiasm to provide engaging instruction to children and adults alike in Private Art Lessons. She visits schools to provide unique and instructional Artist-in-the-Classroom Workshops. Mira also conducts inspiring Paverpol Sculptural Workshops in her studio workshop in Toronto, Ontario Canada.
